Former Union Berlin midfielder Robert Andrich shines for Bayer Leverkusen
Andrich scores in Leverkusen's 2-0 win over Roma
Bayer Leverkusen took a 2-0 lead over Roma in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday, with goals from Florian Wirtz and Robert Andrich.
Andrich, who left Union Berlin for Leverkusen in the summer, scored the second goal of the game in the 57th minute. The goal was his first in European competition for Leverkusen and his second goal of the season overall.
The win gives Leverkusen a healthy advantage heading into the second leg in Rome next week. The German side will be confident of reaching the semi-finals for the second time in three seasons.
