Live Cricket Updates: Pakistan's Shakib, Ayub Guide Recovery After Early Collapse
Bangladesh vs Pakistan 1st Test Day 2
Pakistan (158/4)
Left-handers Saud Shakeel and Saim Ayub scored battling half-centuries to help Pakistan recover to 158 for 4 on a rain-affected second day of the first Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi on Friday.
Pakistan, who resumed on 105-2, lost two wickets in the first session. Abid Ali (39) was caught behind off left-arm spinner Taijul Islam, and skipper Babar Azam (30) fell lbw to off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
But Shakeel (59 not out) and Ayub (55) shared a 109-run partnership for the fourth wicket to steady Pakistan's innings before both batsmen were dismissed in quick succession after the tea break.
