Perdue Recalls Chicken Nuggets and Tenders Due to Metal Contamination
Recall Details
Perdue Foods has recalled approximately 167,171 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken breast nuggets and tenders due to possible metal contamination. The products were produced on March 23, 2024, and subject to the recall include:
- Perdue Simply Smart Organics Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets
- Perdue Chicken Breast Nuggets
- Perdue Gluten Free Chicken Tenders
Affected Products
The recalled products bear establishment number P-33904 inside the USDA mark of inspection and were shipped to retail stores nationwide. Consumers are urged not to consume the recalled products and to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Reason for Recall
The recall was initiated after metal fragments were discovered in one of the recalled products. Perdue Foods has suspended production of the affected products and is working with the USDA to investigate the source of the contamination.
