Michael Keaton Wants to Use a Version of His Real Name, Michael Douglas

Michael Keaton may not be Michael Keaton forever. The 71-year-old actor revealed to ET that he's been thinking about changing his name to something a little closer to his birth name.
“My real name is Michael Douglas,” Keaton tells ET. “But when I was starting out, there was already a Michael Douglas, so I had to come up with something else.”
Keaton says he's always been a fan of the name Michael Douglas, and he even considered using it when he first started out in Hollywood.
“I thought about using my real name, but I was afraid it would be too confusing,” he says. “There was already a Michael Douglas, and I didn't want people to get us confused.”
But now, Keaton says he's reconsidering.
“I'm getting older, and I'm starting to think about my legacy,” he says. “I want people to remember me for my work, not for my name.”
Keaton says he's not sure if he'll actually go through with the name change, but he's definitely thinking about it.

Keaton has had a long and successful career in Hollywood, starring in such films as Beetlejuice, Batman, and Birdman.
He's also been nominated for two Academy Awards, and he won a Golden Globe Award for his role in Birdman.
